iOS users can now enjoy the ease and speed of wireless home-office printing in the multi-printer enterprise, with encryption security and local or centralized user management.

Phoenixville, PA  Oct. 2, 2017 -- SEH Technology Inc.– the U.S. subsidiary of network solutions innovator SEH Computertechnik GmbH – announces Apple's^® AirPrint^® certification of its primos print server and with that, a new server version, one that adds functions as it does away with driver downloads. The new primos server enables businesses to leverage the ease and consumer familiarity of Apple's^® popular, user-friendly AirPrint^® printing protocol in the complex, multi-level and security-focused enterprise network.

The server allows such users – field service workers, students, presenters, or hotel guests, for example –  to simply print from their iPhones^® or iPads^®, and enterprise administrators to manage, direct or restrict their usage, using convenient, network-wide Active Directory, OpenLDAP^® or Apple^® Open Directory tools. primos also enables local setup directly from user to printer; a new feature requested for smaller businesses lacking directory services.

While now supported in over 3000 printing devices, Apple's AirPrint^® protocol was designed for the ease of use required by the smallest home offices, requiring no driver loads or printer searches before clicking "Print." By the same token, the protocol is not made to navigate the complex networks of enterprises, where a specific user's print jobs might be directed to one specific printer on a specific subnet, and only with appropriate user privileges. That is the first purpose of the new AirPrint^®-certified primos, supplying the necessary network awareness and directory support to enable administrators to centrally map users to printers for seamless, secure operation at direct-to-printer speeds.

Like its predecessor, the new primos works with as many as 10 network printers and supplies point-to-point encryption, essential to the enterprise. The product is available from a worldwide network of distributors and resellers.
