If a USB device is connected to a client, the connection is of a point-to-point type. As long as the connection is established, other users cannot connect the USB device to their client and thus cannot use it. For this reason, you have to cut the connection once you do not use the USB device any longer.
To cut the connection between USB device and client, you deactivate the connection between the client and the USB port of the UTN or INU server to which the USB device is connected:
· Usually, the user deactivates the connection as described below.
· You can also set up an automatic deactivation: Auto Disconnect.
· In addition, the administrator can deactivate the connection via the Control Center. More information can be found in the system-specific user manual.
✓ The USB port is shown in the selection list.
✓ The USB port is connected to your client.
1. In the selection list, select the port.
2. Select Port – Deactivate from the menu bar.
➔ The connection will be deactivated.
Important: To remove a single USB device in the event of an error, select Port – Remove in the menu bar. |
USB ports can be enabled and disabled via hotkey. After the key combination for the hotkey has been set, the USB port can be activated and deactivated, even if the SEH UTN Manager is running in the background.
✓ The USB port is displayed in the selection list.
✓ You are logged on to the client as an administrator.
1. Select the USB port in the selection list.
2. From the Port menu, choose Hotkey.
The Hotkey dialog appears
3. Set the key combination for the hotkey.
Important: System-relevant key combinations cannot be used. You should therefore use the suggestions displayed. |
4. Click OK.
➔ The setting is saved.
For administration purposes, you can display existing hotkeys together with the specified key combinations in an overview. Hotkeys that have already been set can be deleted here.

menu, select the Settings

The Options
dialog appears.
2. Select the Hotkeys tab.
An overview with all hotkeys appears. To delete hotkeys, use the minus button or "delete" on the keyboard.
3. Click OK.
